Stuart tragically was taken away from us in a car accident on Saturday morning. He was only 31 and
had a bright future ahead of him. Stuart touched the lives of everyone he met and it saddens me
greatly that I am having to write this. I can't think of the right words to express the
sadness and loss we are faced with.

Stuart was my brother and he was the best brother I could have ever wished for. He was a wonderful
son and my mum and dad thought the world of him and were very proud to be able to call him their
son.

He was a very conscientious hard working young man. He had recently started a new job and was
enjoying it and felt that all his hard work and professional achievements were being recognised.
He had achieved so much in his short life and we were all very proud of him.

Stuart was a kind hearted, generous and loyal friend to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting
him. His dry sense of humour and cheeky little smile will stay in our thoughts and our hearts
forever.

Rest in peace, dearest Stuart. x

My thoughts and prayers go out to Stuart's family.
I was shocked at learning of this news. I had the pleasure of working alongside Stuart for a couple of years at Birse Rail. Always an honest, hardworking and conscientious young man with a dry sense of humour and liked by all. A credit to his family. With Stu's move to work in London with Adam McA, we'd planned to catch up over a beer or too, but sadly never managed it. But we'll raise a glass in tribute. God Bless, Dec

A dear cousin and nephew

A cousin and nephew who was dearly loved and will be remembered always. There is a link death cannot sever, Love and Remembrance last forever.
We will cherish the happy memories we had together in 2006, when Stuart and his family visited Canada, and when we visited Britain in 1997.
Love always,

June, Neil and Iona

not fair

Firstly my heart goes out to Peter, Joan and Sara.
It's just not fair that Stu has been taken from us.
I have so many memorys of fun and laughter with Stu, from the renault 5 seat incident, to RAC rally and fireworks. Stu loved his fireworks when we were kids and he found it really funny to throw them at me! We would laugh until we could no more.
Rest in peace Stu

Rest in peace

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

Goodnight and God Bless

A true friend and Gentleman who was there for any of us that needed you. You would light up the room with your wit and humour no matter how anyone felt and I always looked forward to catching up with you.

You have been my hero on many a night out in Southwell especially keeping me away from certain men (you know who I mean) but you always made sure no one was left out of the conversation no matter how many times we had to talk about cars, stereos, phones an any other gadget on the menu.

As we left school and all went our separate ways I am grateful that we all managed to stay friends and catch up from time to time though it was ironic that you and I lived so close together yet mostly only caught up in London visiting everyone there.

Our next night out will be hard as our dearest friend will not be with us but I know you will be up there toasting a drink to us as we will you.

You will always be in our hearts and prayers and never forgotten. You were one of the best.

Until we meet again, goodnight and God bless sweetheart

Stu,
You know that the angels are taken first, and you were a true angel.
Life just isn't fair my friend, you will be sadly missed and always in my thoughts.
People say that you can count on one hand your true friends, and you were most certainly one. Always there whenever needed, one in a million.
My sincere condolences go out to Peter, Joan & Sara.
Sleep well mate and god bless. X

Stuart

They say that we all have our path to follow and we were so glad that yours crossed that of our son, James, and ours. The tragedy is that your pathway has proved to be so much shorter than you deserved.

We have such happy memories of your group of friends during your schooldays in Southwell and you know that you were always welcome in our home ~ the fact that you were still all friends despite the many changes in your lives says a lot and we really cannot believe that we will never hear another anecdote about you. Those already posted on the site are great (and ring so true of you) but we only wish we could have heard them in other circumstances.

You will always be remembered as such a kind, considerate, loyal and dependable friend, one of life's real gentlemen; modest and self-effacing you never seemed to realise in what high esteem you were held by all who knew you.

The world is a poorer place for your passing; it's been a privilege to know you and you will leave a gap in so many lives on so many occasions. Rest in peace.

I can still recall the first day we were introduced and now it seems so many years ago.

We shared so many hilarious moments at work, from Jim West the sleeping Quantity Surveyor falling off his chair, to our memorable site visit when you stepped off a raised platform and ended up to your waist in mud. The laughs continued outside work, whether on a lads’ weekend away or having a few beers watching the late night boxing and falling asleep before it even began. Thinking of you and your dry sense of humour will always make me smile.

It was only a few weeks ago that we went out for a beer, we had such a good time that we set a date to do it again. Sadly, we won’t have that beer in this life, but we shall in another.

Stu, you will always be remembered as a colleague, but more importantly as a true and loyal friend. You were incredibly kind and a thoughtful gentleman, who always put others first. I shall truly miss you mate, you were the best, and in the words of Sambuca Charlie 'one in a million'. I will miss our close friendship dearly, but take comfort from our memories.

My sincere condolences go out to your family and other close friends. I just hope they can gain strength from these messages and tributes at this difficult time.

Sleep well mate and God Bless.
